Okay, I don't want to pay the prices they charge at the dealer anymore, and I've had it with those stupid chain Jiffy Lube/Snappy Lube places. Even though I'm mechanically inclined, I also don't have a garage (see previous thread on ridiculous real estate prices.) Does anyone know of an honest, trustworthy auto shop that services Hondas?

Re: An honest mechanic?
Tue, March 15, 2005 - 7:02 AMMy next door neighbor's friend is a mechanic and I have used him in the past and been very happy. His shop is called Charlie's Auto (his name is Carlos) and it is in Burbank on Magnolia, one block west of Victory. I'm sure he works on anything as I have taken both my old Dodge and my newer Toyota to him. Tell him Lisa (David's neighbor) sent you and I'm sure he will treat you well. Also they are open for some of Saturday which can help a lot! The complete information is below:
Charlie's Complete Automotive

J&E
Wed, March 30, 2005 - 6:30 AMJ & E Auto on Glendale Ave. Ask for Emad. They are fair-priced, and do good work fast. When they are not able to do the work you need (i.e. computer-related) done on your vehicle, they tell you and give you a good recommendation for where to go. But for brakes, tires, alignment, tune-ups, etc. they are the best in Glendale. I believe they service the Glendale police dept. vehicles. -

Re: An honest mechanic?
Thu, June 21, 2007 - 3:42 PMJ & E is the place to go for this! So my 94 Honda civic was heating up and I brought it into the Honda on Glendale. Bill, one of the mechanics there told me I needed a new head gasket and wanted to charge me 2400 dollars to fix my car. That's more or less how much my car's worth. He as a matter of fact charged me 100 bucks for a wrong diagnosis! i went on the net and found this great review about J&E and drove my car down to road to it. Emad came to my rescue and told me all the other guy was saying was BS. He said I needed a new radiator and some new hose. Incredibly honest and willing to help. I left the car there and came back to pick it up a couple hours later. Emad was working on the final details and had nailed the problem perfectly. They charged me 380 bucks and took less than 4 hours to fix the hole thing. Go to J&E, don't trick yourself. They are the fastest most reliable and knowledgeable mechanics in the area!
